The inner conflict

In Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, Gregor Samsa’s transformation into an insect is more than just physical, it's a deep internal struggle between his human self and his new, alien form. The details of his condition highlight the emotional conflict he faces at the story's start. In " The Metamorphosis" he talks about walking up and not feeling right Kafka describes Gregor’s body as amor-like, suggesting a cold, foreign shell that isolates him from his former human identity. when woken up Gregor ignores his feelings and believes he is dreaming so goes back to bed but when he tries to roll over he cannot. " If I just go back to sleep for a little while and forget this foolishness" ( Kafka 189), Geogor thinking he can ignore his issues is much like many people in this world today. This inner conflict he has with himself not believing what is happening to him or choosing to ignore it is an early sign of it. This is, like many people today trying to avoid problems or pretend like they are not there. I have experienced this first and I know from experience this is the last thing you want to do when you are in a situation like this one. It might feel right in the moment but eventually, you wind up having this internal conflict with yourself because you are bottling up your emotions or ignoring your issues which is never good and I think this story shows this perfectly.
